Buddha Story |Time is an Illusion

Time is an Illusion

In the beautiful village of Oranchikadu, where tradition and simplicity thrived, lived a young boy named Aadhi. He was curious about life but had a habit of postponing things, always saying, "I can do it tomorrow… there's plenty of time!"

One day, an old sage named Guru Vedan visited the village. He was known for his wisdom, and people from faraway places sought his guidance. Aadhi, fascinated by the sage, decided to meet him.

When he finally got the chance, he asked, "Guruji, what is the biggest mistake people make in life?"

The sage smiled and replied, "They think they have time."

Aadhi frowned. "But don’t we? There’s always another day, another chance."

Guru Vedan picked up a dry leaf from the ground and crushed it between his fingers. The wind carried the tiny pieces away.

"Did this leaf know it would fall today?" the sage asked. "Did it know the wind would take it away before it could touch the soil?"

Aadhi remained silent.

The sage continued, "Life is like this leaf. You think you have endless time, but every moment slips away before you realize it. The things you postpone today may never get another chance. If you love someone, tell them now. If you dream of something, chase it now. Because time is not in your hands."

That night, Aadhi couldn’t sleep. The words kept echoing in his mind. He thought about the stories he wanted to write, the people he wanted to spend time with, and the things he kept delaying.

The next morning, Aadhi woke up early and started writing his first story. He ran to his grandfather and hugged him tightly. He helped his mother in the kitchen and played with his little sister instead of saying, "Later."

From that day, Aadhi changed. He understood that life is not about waiting for the right time—it’s about making the time right.

And so, he lived, not in the illusion of time, but in the beauty of every moment.
